Tarvo quickly fell asleep. He was more tired than he had thought. He woke with a start and quickly checked Karin. She was still sleeping. He stroked her hair and kissed her forehead. She was still hot.

Karin's breathing was shallow and she had a hand clinging to Tarvo's shirt.

Tarvo looked down at her hand and gently peeled it from his shirt. He gripped her hand firmly and kissed it before letting go to get some more medicine for her. He laid her gently down and moved away to grab the medicine.

Karin began to whimper in her fever filled sleep feeling the comforting presence leave. "No... P-Please..." She muttered in her sleep.

Tarvo quickly grabbed the medicine and went back to her, gripping her hand in his. "It's alright I'm still here."

Karin whimpered for a moment more then quieted down and sighed.

Tarvo lay down beside her and laced his arm around her shoulders, burying his face in her hair and quickly falling asleep.

A few hours later Karin wakes up slowly then blushes as she sees the position they're in, she freezes, not daring to move.

Tarvo nuzzles her in his sleep. He was a deep sleeper when he was tired.

Karin blushes more and she timidly turns her head to look over at him, she still had a fever and she felt she shouldn't be so close to him, he could catch her cold. She slowly tried to get up.

Tarvo frowned in his sleep, somehow realizing that she was moving. His eyes fluttered open. "Oh, you're awake." He sat up and rubbed the back of his head sheepishly before grabbing stage medicine beside him. "Here. Drink this." He handed her a clear liquid and started to rush some herbs for her.

Karin looked down at the liquid and nodded, taking a drink and almost gagging at the taste.

"Yeah it tastes pretty awful, huh? It will make you feel better though. We normally wash it down with nectar." He stopped grinding the herbs and placed them in a bowl with some nectar. "This should taste better. But only when you are done."

Karin nodded and swallowed that as well, her face scrunched in disgust but soon it didn't taste too bad. "Thanks..."

He smiled. "It's fine."

Karin finished up and laid back down with a sigh. "I hate being sick..." She said sadly, then looked over at him. "I'm sorry for being such a burden..."

Tarvo smiled and sat beside her. "It's not a problem. I don't blame you for it."

Karin smiled at him. "Thanks." She said letting out a sigh as she stared at the ceiling. "Hey... Tarvo?"

"Hm?" He turned his head to look at her. Seeing the sweat coating her forehead, he grabbed a cool damp cloth and started to pat it away. "What is it." His face was a little close to Karin's but he wanted to get as much sweat away as possible and breathing on her skin would cool it enough to help.

Karin's heart sped up as she saw his face draw so close and she would be blushing if she wasn't already bright red from fever, she shivered softly at his breath on her skin. "W-Would you... tell me more... about your mother?"

Tarvo was a little surpised by the question but smiled. "She was lovely. Loved everyone and everyone loved her back. She was always happy. Almost like a big kid with my sisters and I. Always playing games. She was beautiful too. Men were mesmorized by it constantly. My father was lucky enough to marry her. But he didn't deserve her. She was too sweet and innocent for him. She has no idea what he would do to her after I was born."

Karin looked at him sadly. "What did he do?"

He turned his face away from her slightly. "He would beat her constantly. I have never seen my father smile."

Karin's eyes widened and she fell silent, her eyes drifting away in thought. We really are a lot alike... She thought. She knew very well what it was like to be beaten, not by the one she loved but by her father. She would get beaten whenever she 'disappointed him.' She sighed slightly, wincing at a particularly horrid memory.

"Are you okay?" His face grew in concern after hearing her wince.
